My first

Comment that I had to delete. I couldn't figure it out- so I deleted the post....

Sad that people just want to mess with communication-

I thought I had no life-lol

Quite

Only the clock ticking

No baby talk

No daughter at the sink

No husband in the room

It will be a very quiet Easter morn, indeed, for me.

The baby goes home

tomorrow at 7 the baby (and mommy) get on the plane to return to the land of the Presidents. It has been wonderful to have him here (and her). I already miss them. I don't want to wake them up to begin the journey....

A Mess

I would take a picture if I could
The clothes hanger broke and looks like a lop sided fan
Branches are still down in the front yard from the ice storm in January- making the house look un lived in
And Scott is still in the hospital.
I don't know how people do long term illness-but I am not doing it well.
At least Obama is speaking my heart these days......

My heart is against abortion. I have voted that way for years. What, exactly, has that gotten me? Presidents who SAY they care about abortion, but make no attempt to DO anything about it. In the mean time, their friends and neighbors get rich and the poor students I work with only get more poor.
Scott says we are supposed to be more conservative as we get older.
I think we are finally seeing that we are ultimately more liberal and unwilling to play the conservative games anymore.

And the driving begins

I was really looking forward to this spring break. If anything needed a break it was the land. The tree limbs are still down from the ice storm before the first operation. Justifying their placement in a wreck pile was easy since Scott normally does that work. It could wait.
It can no longer wait.
Jen and the baby arrive tomorrow.
My journey begins with a trip to Leavenworth to see Scott in the hospital after his third hip replacement surgery. This is a trip that I dread since seeing my husband in pain is my least favorite thing in the world. My daugher wants to be a nurse- while her mother cannot take on the pain of another.
Monday sees me at the airport for the baby's arrival (oh yes-mommy as well).
Tuesday takes me to the dentist with the baby and mommy.
Wednesday sees me back up to get my husband
Thursday is the hairdresser
Friday back to the airport.
Whew- I am glad I have Spring Break to relax- lol.
The best part will be- we both miss our kids SO much- it will be worth every two hour trip to have our daughter home.
Off to Leavenworth! My own Palm Sunday.

Long time

How long has it been? Three weeks? It seems like the entire winter!
The rain is moving in and the snow will be back tonight. I have been so grateful for the three days of 50 degree weather that we have had. I needed the sunshine and cool walks. The turkeys were back with a vengeance- sixty in all these days!
The smaller turkeys come in the morning. They are cute and come right up to the door, waiting for me to come out with the corn. After they have their fill they move on and the older toms show up- five in all. They swak a bit and gobble as I come out the door. Next comes the old tom with his harem of thirty or so. He struts in the middle of the group with his feathers out. The hens and chicks peck so loudly, we can hear them eat inside our house! He occasionally drops his feathers to eat- but he is usually on guard. Last come the youngest toms. They always look lost and run up to me to be fed.
The birds are so much like us in our stages of life. There are times we need a large crowd to survive and other times we need just a few friends.
I get so much joy and peace from living here.
