Unlike other places, my town does not have housing inventory flying off the shelf.
I think we are usually a year behind the curve.
And so we wait.

Waiting is not easy for me.
Waiting for a baby to be delivered.
Waiting for a child to be healed.
Waiting for a job situation to change.
Waiting for the perfect family for the house.

All of these are in "God's time"
that is what my Nana used to say.

And so I wait.

I'm going to write a post on the new housing market we baby boomers are now facing. Getting a mortgage is very difficult these days. Apparently the main ones being approved are millennials, those in the 20 something bracket. Strapped with student loans, low paying jobs, this age group can borrow less and afford much less when it comes to housing. (unless you are selling to another baby boomer, fresh from their own home sale, and they are paying with cash).
Baby boomers are facing a harsh wake up call, as they expected their home equity to fund their retirement. Life and lifestyles, as well as retirement expectations must change.
If you had 5 showings (as you wrote) and not one offer, your home is priced to high. I know it's a tough pill to swallow.Did you ask your broker why you got no offers? Who were the prospective buyers? Who would be your prospective buyer and is your broker seeking them out?
Real estate today, despite what anyone says, is a nightmare.
Your home looks lovely. Somebody out there would love to buy it. Ask God to send them to you and then make a deal. Make it happen.
Good luck. You are in my prayers.

We are lowering the house at the end of the week.
Tough- but we can survive!
